We have also made it really easy to begin
application development by supplying an evaluation version of Wind River's Tornado II IDE tools. Using these tools, you can develop, compile, and download your application from your host system directly to the 32Mbyte Flash memory of the VIPER target system.

Wind River's VxWorks real-time operating system has a strong reputation for high reliability and
consistent, low interrupt latency. Tests carried out by Arcom's Engineering team show that the 400MHz VIPER board achieves a worst case interrupt service routine (ISR) latency of
29µs when measured under heavy Ethernet load (ping flood) and with continuous Flash file copying using
TrueFFS.

The Development Kit includes the low power 400MHz
VIPER PC/104 single board computer fitted with 64Mbytes
of DRAM and 32Mbytes of Intel StrataFlash. The board is installed inside a rugged industrial compact enclosure
(VIPER-ICE) and includes a battery backed uninterruptible power supply (VIPER-UPS), an external AC PSU, Q-VGA flat panel color 5.5” TFT screen and
analog touchscreen, cables to connect to your host, and a comprehensive information/software CD.
The 30 day
evaluation period for the Tornado II IDE CD is activated by keys
supplied by Wind River. After receiving the Development Kit, click
here to request your
activation keys. The keys will be emailed to you within 7 days.
NOTE:
The evaluation version of Tornado II can only be used to develop and
compile new applications for the supplied operating system image.
You can not build a new VxWorks run-time image. The
Development Kit CD does however include the complete BSP to allow VxWorks developers to use the licensed Tornado II development tools to create a new operating system image.
Please contact Wind
River Systems to discuss your development tool requirements.
