Arcom also works closely with several divisions of the Pervasive
Computing Group to develop and integrate the family of
WebSphere® products into OEM solutions. IBM's high
performance embedded Java virtual machine (J9™), a Java 2
Micro Edition (J2ME) product and the WebSphere
Studio Device Developer (WSDD) tools are combined with
embedded Linux in several Arcom Development Kits. The 233MHz Geode™ based
SBC-GXm
Development Kit has been selected to serve as a fully
supported IBM reference
platform when using the J9™ embedded JVM with either
QNX RTP and MontaVista Linux.
Taking advantage of this extensive range of development kits and
off the shelf hardware will dramatically reduce the time
taken to commission your system. These
development kits bundle all the components needed to start
immediate development including a fully configured single board
computer with a pre-ported version of the embedded Linux
operating system pre-installed in Flash memory, power supply,
cables, comprehensive CD and system license for the IBM J9 JVM, as
well as an evaluation version of IBM WebSphere®
Studio Device Developer IDE. By using our Design
Services capability we can offer the technical expertise of our
dedicated Embedded Linux development team to work with you, either
to enhance the features of the operating system or reduce the
footprint to save storage space. Arcom has a track record of
helping a wide range of industrial and OEM customers to develop
and integrate new drivers and achieve the very best from the
underlying operating system.
