Arcom Control SystemsYear 2000 Readiness Disclosure

Satellite Interface Products

Arcom’s satellite Interface products are high performance units with multi-tasking operating systems targeted for the requirements for satellite applications for use in process control and SCADA applications. Arcom is a world-leader in supplying near real-time satellite SCADA system for the OIL & GAS industry. Due to the nature of the satellite architecture and cost to transport data, Arcom emphasizes our products on controlling the amount of bandwidth utilization through means of event-based reporting, report-by-exception, timed intervals, Poll/Response or through Publish/Subscribe or "PUSH" technology. Our system is based on a TCP/IP topology using off-the-shelf products and standards widely accepted in today’s market.

In order to acquire data from virtually all types of equipment and system, Arcom has experience in over 75 protocols from over 80 man-years of experience in the SCADA industry. Our products are based on two important technical criteria: open architecture design, and standardization. This means that all our products use industry standard, approved specifications, where available, to ensure that the solutions offered have the widest possible applicability and are simple to integrate. New protocols or modifications to existing ones only require a one-time NRE charge for implementation.
The two converter/gateway products Arcom offer are:

 Director Series II & IV
Director Series II & IV The Director is built-on communication connectivity through the use of TCP/IP or a full range of various protocols. Each Director is standard with (4) communication ports and has an Ethernet option. For I/O, the Director is built on the industry standard PC/104 bus to which I/O modules are added per specific application. Arcom provides a full range of I/O modules that include relays, analogs and much more. The Director comes in two separate modules, the Series II and the Series IV. The Series II supports (1) board expansion and the Series IV supports (3).
